Serena Mello is a Brazilian-American actor, dancer, and writer based in New York City. She attended Chapman University, where she studied both Dance and Sociology. Since moving to NYC in 2022, Serena has trained extensively in the Meisner technique with Steve Perlmutter at John DeSotelle Studios. Her work spans theatre, film, and movement, with a particular interest in stories surrounding identity, queerness, immigration, and the wonderfully complicated ways people attempt to understand one another.

Most recently, Serena completed a run of Imaginary, an original play by Ellis Quinne, at FRIGID New York. She also appeared in the short film CERULEA, which premiered at the Lighthouse International Film Festival. Serena is currently writing her debut play, Entre Nós, a bilingual play exploring a Brazilian-American family navigating language, belonging, and generational divide.

When she isn’t acting, Serena can usually be found dancing, teaching Pilates and Sculpt classes, or laughing with her friends around a board game.
